Workcover Physiotherapy.
At Elite Physio & Exercise, we help people who have suffered a work related injury get back to work as quickly and safely as possible. We work with your GP to develop a treatment plan that focusses on early intervention, pain management, rehabilitation and prevention of a recurrence of your injury.
How can your physiotherapist help?
The types of conditions that are included under Work Cover and can be treated or assessed by your physiotherapist include a wide range of musculoskeletal and physical injuries, as follows:
-
Back, shoulder and elbow injuries.
-
Repetitive strain injuries.
-
Machine injuries.
-
Ankle and knee injuries.
-
Respiratory and breathing problems.
It’s our role to provide you with advice and education regarding your injury, how to prevent its recurrence, and how to manage your pain and injury at home.
We also perform a comprehensive assessment of your injury and develop a treatment plan to help you return to work as quickly as possible. As your injury heals and your date to return to work comes closer, we help you practice work tasks that are still difficult to perform, modify these tasks or retrain you to perform easier tasks if that becomes necessary.
Benefits of physiotherapy for Workcover injuries
The benefit of receiving physiotherapy treatments for your work-related injury is that we not only develop a return to work rehabilitation plan, but we also ensure that you regain as much functionality as possible before returning to work. We also won’t sign off on your return to work until we’re sure that you’re fit to perform your duties and if not, help to retrain you for alternative tasks.
Your physiotherapist plays an important part in assessing your injury, developing a treatment or rehabilitation program and helping you return to work, quickly and safely. Once you’ve reported your injury at work, submitted a Work cover claim and asked your GP for a referral, just hand us your insurance claim number and we’re good to go!
